Review #97: The Great High School Love Game- Marcia Carrington

Title: The Great High School Love Game
Author: Marcia Carrington
Rating: 3/5 Stars
Review: I received this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review. I didn't really know what to expect from this book when I started reading it but I quickly learned it wasn't for me. I found it to be kind of immature, like younger readers would have gotten more out of it. I just found some of the language to be strange and it really dumbed the characters done. This book was still fun and cute to read and it also reminded me how dumb high school kids can be lol. How you "fall in love" so quickly and can fall out just as easily. I did like how the author jumped between the four main characters POV's. this way you receive information you otherwise would not have known. The characters are okay. I found Francine to be a mass manipulator, I fell that she manipulated everyone including her right- hand man Chad. I think that Chad had regrets about what they were doing but Francine manipulated him into it. Jake is your typical jock, but he did show a softer, more romantic side that I wasn't expecting. I'm glad that him didn't give up on love. Amy was my least favourite character because I found her to be very annoying with the whole no confidence and low self esteem. Plus I found her cowardly for how she let things fall into place.
This was just not a book for me. But I would still recommend it to YA readers, but ones on the younger side of the spectrum.
